For those of you who like stats a study by Liverpool John Moores University showed that children burnt off an average of 1,830 calories a week using the Wii console (based on a 12.2hour average gaming week) and that their heart rate can be increased to 130 beats a minute the heart rate children can reach while playing Wii, compared with 83 beats a minute when playing sedentary games.

With the trump card of the study results being that this could result in a weight loss of 27lb over the course of a year.
