Condemned 2 Overview for Xbox 360

Condemned 2 is the next chapter in the disturbingly terrifying series and takes place 11 months after, Condemned: Criminal Origins.

Similar to the critically aclaimed original, Condemned 2 is a first-person action game focused on melee-oriented combat. The game features a darker, grungier Ethan Thomas, who has gone off the rails and descended into a life of alcoholism and homelessness following the events of the first game. The basic premise of the plot features Ethan going back to work for SCU (Serial Crimes Unit) to try and rescue his old mentor Malcolm Vanhom who has gone missing.

An interesting new twist is that because of his alcholism, unless Ethan regularly drinks alcohol his vision becomes blurred and his aim unsteady during the firearms combat that is more prevalent in Condemned 2 than the original.

As Ethan, you will engage in visceral combat using a variety of firearms, and like the first installment it is very combat focussed, with an all-new fighting system complete with the ability to use pretty much anything you can get your hands on as a weapon, including false arms and legs!

However unlike the original Condemned 2 has a novel new element straight out of an x-rated C.S.I that nicely breaks up the action in the form of forensic investigations of murder scenes, but just like the fighting these scenes can get pretty grisly.

When this is combined with the painstaking detail that has gone into animating the environments and the frankly erie use of lighting and sound, it makes for a very creepy and sinister feeling on most levels that makes Condemned 2 work really well as a horror game.

Another new element that has been introduced in this addition to the series is a multiplayer mode, something which the original was sorely missing. You and seven of your friends or complete internet strangers can play in four different multiplayer modes. These ranging from a free for all death match to a more tactical game pitting the SCU agents against the Influenced, where the SCU agents must use their equipment to find and scan the evidence before time runs out.

So if you have a bit of Jack Bauer inside you, have a strong stomach for violence and love being immersed in a world of psychological terror then condemned 2 is the game for you and if you compare our prices, you’ll find that at under £10, you wont find Condemned 2 Cheaper anywhere else!
